Lowe's Community Impact Grants (Community Bucket List)

Grants for physical renovation of community spaces, paid as cash or Lowe's gift cards at Lowe's discretion. Lowe's associates volunteer on the projects.

Who can apply
  • Nominators: legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 21 or older (Lowe's associates may nominate)
  • Grant recipients: a 501(c)(3) nonprofit or a government entity; Lowe's FAQ says all grants must go to a local nonprofit, school or city/municipality willing and able to take on the project
  • Projects that physically improve or renovate a community space and benefit the community as a whole
  • Project types: community centers and services, safe affordable housing, first responder facilities, community revitalization (for example schools, parks, community gardens, historic theaters) and skilled trades education
  • Project located in the United States within 30 miles of a Lowe's store
  • Religious organizations and churches, if the renovated space serves all members of the community without discrimination
  • Projects must provide volunteer opportunities for Lowe's associates and be capable of completion with Lowe's grant funding
  • Grant recipients must meet the insurance requirements in Section 8 of the program terms; up to $5,000 of the grant may be used for this coverage
Not eligible
  • Projects that benefit a single individual, such as improving or repairing one person's home
  • Community sports teams, activities or events
  • Projects the nominator or the nominator's immediate family members receive financial benefit from
  • 2026 cycle: projects that could not be completed on or before December 15, 2026
  • Nominators who review program submissions, people working for for-profit program implementors other than Lowe's and its affiliates, and their immediate family or household members, as defined in the terms
How to apply
  1. During a nomination period, go to lowes.com/bucketlist and fill out the nomination form.
  2. The form asks for the nominator's name, phone and email; the nonprofit that will lead the project and its contact details; the project location and description; why the project matters to you; its current status; whether it can be completed in the stated window (August to December 15 in 2026); how the grant would be used; and the estimated cost.
  3. Nominate each project once. You may nominate several different projects, and nominating a project more than once does not improve its chances.
Deadlines
2026 nomination period: February 18, 2026 (12:00 AM ET) to March 20, 2026 (11:59:59 PM ET). Closed. The reviewed official pages do not list a 2027 nomination period.
Response
For the 2026 cycle, the terms provided for 200 finalists and up to 100 potential grant recipients. The FAQ said finalists would be contacted during summer 2026, including July. Lowe's has since published the selected 2026 projects on its Signature Projects page.

Write the request

Before you open the form, write down what the donation is for, the date, how many people it reaches and how you will thank Lowe's. If Lowe's asks for a letter, adapt the donation request template or a youth sports sponsorship letter. After a yes, send a sponsor thank-you letter.
