- Local grassroots, community-led nonprofit organizations nominated by Starbucks partners (employees)
- Organizations in the U.S. and Canada
- Recent rounds focused on hunger relief, family support, youth empowerment, homelessness, environmental stewardship and community connection
- How to apply
- Neighborhood Grants use nominations from Starbucks partners (employees) and alumni, rather than direct applications from organizations.
- Starbucks says partners often nominate organizations they know through volunteering or personal giving.
- How to get in
- By invitation only; there is no application.
Write the request
Before you open the form, write down what the donation is for, the date, how many people it reaches and how you will thank Starbucks. If Starbucks asks for a letter, adapt the donation request template or a youth sports sponsorship letter. After a yes, send a sponsor thank-you letter.
Questions
- Does Starbucks donate coffee, gift cards or other products?
- Starbucks says it is not accepting product or in-kind donation requests. It supports communities through Foundation grants and local store involvement.
- Does Starbucks sponsor local events?
- The customer service donation policy says Starbucks is not currently seeking national or local partnerships or sponsorships. Its general contact page separately invites partnership and sponsorship proposals, so the official pages conflict.
- Can our nonprofit apply for a Starbucks Foundation grant?
- Organizations cannot apply directly for Neighborhood Grants. Starbucks partners (employees) and alumni nominate local nonprofits.
- Does Starbucks donate food to food banks?
- Through Starbucks FoodShare, all U.S. company-operated stores donate unsold food. Drivers pick it up and it is delivered to regional food banks and local food pantries, in partnership with Feeding America and other hunger-relief organizations.
